How do directors make Shakespeare relevant in a modern society?

In my case, by putting on his shows. It's my belief that they're 100% relevant to modern society, because human psychology has not changed since the late 16th Century. People still get jealous, enraged, fall in love, fall into despair, are ambitious, and crave attention. Shakespeare wrote evocatively about all those states.

Even when a custom has changed, it's relevant because it helps us recognize how we're different from people in the past.

So I make his plays relevant by making them as clear as I can. By just "telling the story."
