Is the WhatsApp acquisition the largest consumer tech acquisition ever?

UPDATE Prior to the $67bn Dell-EMC acquisition announced 10/2015, yes it was (if you exclude computer manufacturers and pre-2001 "internet" and entertainment stocks).

Inflation-adjusted, yes FB-WhatsApp was, unless you include computer manufacturers and count the 2001 acquisition of Compaq by HP, which BusinessInsider says would be equivalent to $33.4bn today. [As John Phileas points out, this excludes 'internet' stock deals in the late 1990s like AOL-TW, cable mergers, etc., which were frankly funny-money transactions and should not be taken as serious valuations.]
