For me personally, it was when I was in my teens and I started noticing how often gun control supporters held up countries like England as examples for the US to follow in terms of gun policy.
When your go-to example of “successful gun control” is a country that banned and confiscated guns can you really blame people for assuming that you want to ban and confiscate guns?
