Do you believe the children of creationists should have to participate in compulsory state education that includes the theory of evolution?

My answer is that yes - there should be a compulsory curriculum that includes the study of maths, physics, music, geology, biology, and so on - and the content should be driven by the current consensus of the world's leading experts.

It should be a basic human right, but unfortunately, it's not.

Article 26.
  1. Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.
  2. Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.
  3. Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.

So I think it should be, but this right is not protected under any universal rule, because parent's rights are placed above children's. Human rights protect children except in this regard. What a shame. A good education should be a right. A false education is no education.
