How did Anki get into the WWDC 2013 keynote?

We got introduced to Apple initially by our board member / investor Marc Andreessen. There was a great synergy between the two companies, not just because of the appeal of Anki Drive (which we will be selling in Apple stores in the fall), but also because we're using Apple's products as part of Anki Drive in a way no one else had previously (even though we use the same hardware and software that is available to everyone else). In the end, Apple is extremely supportive of their developers, and we were honored to have been chosen by Apple to introduce Anki and Anki Drive at WWDC.
