Popular dating app Bumble partners with Spotify

It’s a branding match made in heaven.

If a person’s taste in music is something that you deem an important characteristic of the person you date, you’ll want to take note of this millennial-focused partnership.

Bumble—the dating app that encourages women to take the lead—has met its match in Spotify. The two millennial-friendly brands will now integrate your favorite artists into your Bumble profile.

WHITE PAPER: How to communicate with a millennial workforce.

In a press release, brand managers at Spotify explain how the partnership will work:

Rolling out over the next few weeks, users can connect their Spotify account to their Bumble profile to showcase the top artists they listen to most on Spotify. If you’re eager to learn more about the artist displayed (and get some bonus talking points for your potential connection), you can click on the artist which will take you to the artist page on Spotify. This integration not only gives Bumble users a peek into the music preferences of their potential connection, but also provides an easy conversation starter.

“Music says a lot about who we are as people and connecting culturally can serve a foundation for creating meaningful relationships” Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe told TechCrunch.

Breathe easy, closet Nickelback fans: Bumble will have an option that allows you to hide certain artists that you may not exactly want strangers to know that you like.
