Another major recall has hit the packaged food industry due to listeria contamination.
National Frozen Food Corp. is the latest to issue a recall, which includes Bountiful Harvest, Wal-Mart’s Great Value, Live Smart, Target’s Market Pantry and Sprouts Farmers Market brands.
National Frozen Food Corp. joins CRF Frozen Foods as the second major provider to face a listeria scare. CRF issued a major recall earlier this year after two deaths and eight illnesses were linked to its products.
NFFC communicators alerted this public with this press release:
The frozen green peas and frozen mixed vegetables are being recalled as a precaution with the health and safety of consumers as top priority. The recall was the result of a sample tested by the company which revealed that the finished products may potentially be contaminated with the bacteria. The Food and Drug Administration has been made aware of this recall. There have been no reported illnesses attributed to the recalled items to date.

The company issued the voluntary recall for products that were distributed in stores between Sept. 2, 2015 and June 2.
