None of my high school teachers were fired during my years in high school (1964–1968).
However, one of my elementary school teachers was fired when it was found out that, as a devout Jew, he would not read from the New Testament of the King James Version of the Bible during the mandatory daily Bible readings. He would only read from one of the first five books of the Old Testament.
That was in 1959, before the SCOTUS ruling outlawing mandatory daily Bible readings in public schools.
