Would you choose to be a teenager again?

HELL. FUCKING. NO .

You’ve probably seen those crazy questions about ‘Would you kill your pet for a bajillion dollars?’

or my favorite - Would you slap an old lady for $10,000?

And you know what? Most of those questions have made me stop and think about how different my life could be with the amount of money on offer.

I mean…$10k would mean no more debt besides our cars.

$1 million+ would mean no more working for either of us, ever - because with wise investments and judicious spending, that would work out just fine.

But you could not offer me any amount of money to relive my teenage years.

All the hormonal changes - <shudder>

Never knowing where my emotions were going to be; on top of the moon one moment and the lowest of the low the next.

My body doing all those crazy, unpredictable things at the most inopportunte times.

The mean, mean, mean girls with so much shit to talk that I couldn’t come up with responses to.

The crushes and the being crushed and the awkwardness and the never knowing quite what was going on or what I was supposed to do.

For me, being a teenager sucked big fat sweaty donkey balls.

But you know what’s cool?

The teenage condition passes.

No matter how awful it was at the time, it is destined to come to an end. Life is about to change.

And THAT is pretty awesome.

I will stay 40, thankyouverymuch.

No matter how many old ladies I get to slap.
