9 Halloween costume ideas for PR agency pros

Whether you decide to throw a party, head to a haunted house, dress up for work or eat your weight in bite-sized candy bars, Halloween is the perfect time to celebrate all things spooky.

If you’re stuck on what to wear on for Monday’s Halloween celebration at work, don’t fret.

Here’s a cheat sheet of costumes that come naturally to those who work at PR and marketing agencies:

Copywriter: Zombie

This is an easy one for copywriters, because most the time they are halfway to this look. Give them 500 pages of copy to proofread and remove their caffeine—and presto! You’ve got yourself a great zombie.

PR director: Superhero

PR pros wear many hats, but one they don often is the crisis manager.

Who do you turn to when your brand or your client’s brand is in crisis? There is only one true hero who can turn this unfavorable press around and ensure your client’s name is not tarnished. PR pros are everyday superheroes.

Creative director: Pirate

The creative director is the captain of the art department ship. Along with his crew, the creative director works tirelessly to brave the rough waters of clients’ art requests.

Creative directors don’t pillage and plunder like your average pirate, but the two roles have one commonality: They are out-of-the-box thinkers.

Graphic designer: French painter

A graphic designer is a modern day artist, so what Halloween costume is more fitting than the garb of another artist?

Graphic designers today work on platforms such as Photoshop and Illustrator rather than paint and canvas, but they have the same imaginative eyes and artistic abilities that old-school French painters have.

Account executive: Prisoner

Account executives lives by the mantra, “The client is always right.” Daily, they aim to provide their clients with the best possible work for their specific goals.

Where his or her coworkers might have more creative freedom, an account executive ensures that anything leaving his or her desk is approved by the client’s brand book.

Social media manager: Snapchat filter

As the trendiest member of the marketing team, the social media manager is hip to the latest crazes. Not only will the social media manager be able to use #nofilter on all of her Halloween Instagram photos, she will also be among the most relevant costumes this year.

Human resources director: Referee

HR directors are there to keep all employees in line. Similar to a referee, HR pros mediate employee relations and makes sure everything is running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. This Halloween, give them whistle to ensure no one goes out of bounds.

Intern: Ghost

Interns are the silent force that helps you get your projects complete. They don’t always get to do the most glamourous work, but they help you with the nitty gritty details that are needed on any campaign.

After about a semester with the agency, they effectively disappear to return to their studies.

Client: Angel (or devil)

Clients might come to your agency as perfect angels, but sometimes, their devilish side can make an appearance.

It’s up to you and your team to make sure their angelic half shines. A happy client makes for a happy agency.

What costumes would you add to the list, PR Daily readers?
