To me, the saddest truth about life is that the concept of being a good person or bad person has nothing to do whatever that happens to you.
That is why innocent people get hurt and why bad people seem to have it good in life.
That is why any of us can die any time.
Life is a mystery. That is a fact. Death is also a mystery. That is a fact. You can spend a ton of time and money trying to science shit up, but you'd always be left baffled at some point.
So back to the question, it is a sad truth because we're essentially powerless.
You can try to be nice and help others all you like, but bad shit can happen to you anytime anyway.
Look at this piece of news. Warning-disturbing as fuck:
Or did you watch American Sniper?
Chris Kyle was deployed several times. He didn't die during battle. He finally got home, prepared to live happily ever after with his family, but got killed by a disturbed veteran, in his own country.
How sad, and ironic is that?
Life is a big, fat fucking irony sometimes.
I am not trying to turn this into a religious debate or anything, but I just don't think faith alone can answer the questions we'd always have.
We are only human. And deep down, we know the truth. We know can't know it all.
The best we can do is try to get by.
But at the end of the day, shit can happen anytime and there's nothing we can do about it.
