What are the pros and cons of being your age?

I’m 29.

Pros-

  • Don’t need to go through the formal studies, or those semester exams. No assignments.
  • Mature enough to have a realistic view towards life, rather than being very emotional.
  • Having the courage to take life as it comes, rather than thinking ‘why me’!!
  • Independent, both financially and emotionally. I can support my Parents now in their need. What they did for me, i can never pay back but yes atleast i’m now capable of supporting them.
  • Can live life as per my own choice, freely. I’m now able to take the responsibility for my own actions.
  • Travel as I want. Yeah I love traveling and want to explore the world.
  • I was quite short tempered when i was in my teenage, but now i know how to control my temper. Professional life groomed me a lot over the years.
  • Tears don't come out as easily as it was before 10 years. I now learnt to play strong, cry only when i’m alone. I have learnt in hard way how to control my emotions. Doesn't matter how the hard life is, always live it with a smile.

Cons-

  • Sometimes I feel tired of playing strong. At this age even if you wish, you can't show your emotions or disappointment to the world as easily as you did in teenage.
  • Can't behave very child like to your parents, you have to behave as a matured adult , you want to feel them proud of yourself.
  • Work strees, you are no more a student. You need to continuously balance between your work and personal life.
  • No more living in a happy utopian life. Yes life is hard. And as an adult, almost about to enter in midlife, you have to face all the hurdles and overcome them.
  • As you grow up, we come across a lot of failures, need to have the courage of coping with them.
  • Difficult to make friends, which was far more easier at very young ages in school or college.
  • Social pressure of getting settled in life, for a woman from India it's not measured in terms of professional success or how happy you are in your own skin, but more when you getting married or having kids!!
