Imagine if someone built a tower of Jenga.
Now imagine someone told you it was your job to keep it from falling over.
Now imagine someone took two of the bottom blocks out, and turned on an industrial fan to try and blow it over.
That's sort of what keeping a bonsai tree is like.
Seriously, I don't see how people can do it. So far four separate trees have perished at my hands. The first I thought I overtrimmed, the second I know I didn't trim enough, the third wasn't happy with being trimmed at all, and the fourth just committed seppuku for no apparent reason.
It's an art form, no doubt about it. Too bad I can barely doodle.
