Ben Carson says poverty is “really more of a choice.” What do you think about that?
It’s something rich people tell themselves in order to get rid of their guilty conscience because they know that actually their wealth obligates them to help people who have it worse. But of course they are also selfish and don’t want to share. That’s why they convince themselves that poor people are generally to blame for their own poverty and therefore do not deserve help.
