Mr. Trump’s knowledge derives from incurring over $900,000,000 in losses, and then using the losses on subsequent returns.
If this equates to making him uniquely capable of fixing it, then let’s try this type of thinking in other contexts:
- You are going into the hospital for heart surgery. You are told, “We have a surgeon who is uniquely capable of fixing you; he’s botched thousands of surgeries before, and learned how to get the body parts re-used.”
- You are going to get your car fixed. You are told by the mechanic, “I’m uniquely capable of fixing your car; I’ve blown up several of this model, and I know how to salvage the parts.”
- You are taking your pet to a vet. You are told, “I’m uniquely capable of fixing your pet; other pets I’ve treated died, but we were able to compost their bodies.”
- You are considering reincarnating a good general from history. George Custer makes his pitch: “I’m uniquely qualified; I know exactly how to recognize when you are surrounded by hostiles in unfavorable terrain.”
I’m seeing some problems with this line of thinking, but maybe it’s just me.
