“The election system which was designed to keep people like Trump out of the Whitehouse”
I beg your pardon? The election system was most definitely NOT designed to keep people liberals disagree with out of the White House. Our election system is not and never has been meant to apply some sort of mythical ideological litmus test to political candidates.
Yes, it is fair that Trump won. The electoral college was intentionally designed to balance the value of votes between high-population states and low-population states. Don’t pretend that your desire to end the electoral college has anything to do with “fairness” or “democracy”. We both know the goal is to allow states with big cities and high populations (which by pure coincidence I’m sure tend to be blue states; imagine that) to dictate the results of every Presidential election. Well that ain’t happenin’.
If you want to win more elections in the future, pick better candidates. Look at the level of voter turnout in this election. Trump didn’t win because he motivated people to vote for him, he won because Hillary didn’t motivate people to vote for her.
