I had just gotten married, my wife had a daughter from a previous relationship, my stepdaughter who at the time this occurred was about 4 years old. We were watching TV together (some Disney movie don’t ask I don’t recall) I was sitting in an overstuffed chair reading, she was lying on the floor on her stomach with her knees bent so the soles of her feet were faced up.
I was alerted to the fact that something was up when I heard her whimpering, so I looked up. What I saw was this little girl with her hands in front of her digging her fingers into the carpet like a movie character trying to avoid going over a cliff’s edge, knees still bent, sliding across the floor, with a look of terror on her face. She did not stop until she encountered the wall, a distance of maybe 12 feet traveled in about 3 seconds. Once she touched the wall the look on her face stopped being terror, turning to relief, she stood up, and so did I picking her up and hugging her and asking if she was ok. After she calmed down I asked her what had happened, if she felt like something was pulling her, and the best she could convey was that there was no sensation of a person touching her, more like she was falling sideways. She could never explain it better than that, nor could I. It was the only thing I have ever seen in my life (almost 46 years now) that I would be describe as a supernatural event, whether it was or not. True it could be some odd interaction with a passing object with enough gravity to move her, there are plenty of odd things in the universe that are natural, but this just stayed with me for the last 20 years,
