Edit - As one Canadian pointed out, healthcare is not free. Some provinces in Canada also charge an additional surcharge on taxes for healthcare.

29% is just the federal portion of taxes. You also have provincial taxes that make tax rate higher. There are also provincial and federal sale taxes.
