I really really…. Really hate Zooey Deschanel. I find her pretentious and disingenuous. She's the type of girl who pretends that she is unaware of how gorgeous she looks, but in reality she totally… totally knows. She pretends to be clumsy knowing it'd be perceived as cute; she pretends to be awkward knowing it'd be perceived as “down to earth"; she pretends to be clueless and she strings people along.
All in all, I think she's the poser of all posers. I can't stand her.
Oh, and anyone mentioned how great she was in 500 Days of Summer, here's why she's annoying in that movie too. She's a Manic Pixie Dream Girl.
Now come to think of it, I don't think she has ever played any role that isn't an innocent and childish pretty girl who is “weird" and cute. Even her commercials falls into that trope.
So… you don't want to put on shoes. but you put on perfect make up and do perfect hair… really? eh….
