What is the weirdest/grossest/most disturbing thing seen by emergency room staff? Do you ever find it difficult not to faint?

An elder-neglect case, in which he'd been living in a squalid home during the hottest part of the summer.   He tried to walk in on his own.   The Triage nurse put out a hand to assist, since he was wobbly, and hundreds of insects crawled out from under his shirt sleeves.   Once he was taken to a room and his shirt removed, he had large, open, running sores that were infested with many types of insects.  He had maggots under his skin, moving, making the skin look as if it were undulating.   The smell coming from the poor man was unbelievable.

I didn't vomit or faint, although I had to periodically leave the room for a breath of fresh air.
