Okay, okay - apparently concise isn’t allowed, lol. Basically, folks in the Middle Ages had no real concept of hygiene or germ theory. Most of their treatments for illnesses were as likely to kill you as the disease itself. A soft modern human from a technologically advanced culture will have an immune system that simply isn’t up to the task of handling the challenges that the people in that era faced on a daily basis. Oh, and of course, smallpox was alive and well - he won’t be vaccinated. Contaminated water, contaminated food, contaminated everything - I’d give the guy less than one year before he succumbs to some awful disease or parasite infection.
