In summer 2010 , I was at Sabiha Gukcen airport , waiting for my second flight for Damascus for a vacation (including a festival where I was performing a concert as a donation for charity) .
My flight got delayed (don’t remember the why exactly) , and suddenly I had a 6 hours time to spend at the airport , sitting on an airport bench .
An elderly lady sits by my side , and starts telling me how due to a timing mistake , she needed to pay a fee to get her flight time changed to get to her daughter's wedding , she couldn't get a hold of her to ask her to send the money , and she didn't have enough (needed about 100$) .
I didn't have much money either , so tried figuring out what to do ...?
So I relocated to the busiest hallway at the airport , and started husking ! with my guitar in my hands and its case in front of me , and a paper on it saying "Your donations will help an elderly woman walk her daughter down the aisle" . I got her 100$ after 2 hours , gave it to her and guided her through the procedure to change her flight , then got back to my spot , took off the sign , and just kept playing . I got another 100+$ before security asked me stop , appearently someone found it "noisy" for their taste and complained .
But oh well , I got to help a lovely women to her daughter's wedding , and got me some snickerdoodles !
