It all depends on how I got injured and who is present.
I do not swear in front of my parents (now in their mid-80s) or my grandchildren (fractions and single digits).
However:
If I stub my toe on the bedpost while walking to the bathroom at 3 AM I swear quietly.
If I do the same thing at 3 PM I swear loudly.
If a tree falls on me at 3 AM or 3 PM I swear loudly, then loudly call for help. (So far, I have never been hit by falling trees.)
If I am senselessly, violently and without provocation attacked by another individual (as happened at the last rap/hip-hop concert I worked in Chicago), I do everything in my power to make sure he doesn’t get a second chance to do me harm. And while I'm doing so, I swear at the bastard.
